Children’s Privacy Notice
CompReader is designed for children to use under a parent-managed family account. This notice gives parents a direct summary of the child information used by the service.
Effective July 16, 2026
Parent account and consent
A parent or legal guardian creates the family account and must confirm consent before adding a child profile. Children do not create accounts with an email address. The parent controls access to the parent dashboard and can set a separate four-digit kid code for a child profile.
Child information collected
- First name and parent-selected reading level.
- Parent-selected interests, sidekick, and story preferences.
- Stories, quiz responses, scores, reading progress, stickers, achievements, rewards, and safety-moderation records.
- A one-way hash of the kid code and basic technical identifiers needed for security and operation.
CompReader does not ask children for a birth date, home address, phone number, photo, voice recording, school, or child email address.
Why the information is used
Child information is used to personalize reading practice, generate stories at the selected level, check content safety, score quizzes, measure progress, award stickers and achievements, and show parent-defined rewards.
Sharing and public features
CompReader uses hosting, database, analytics, and AI service providers to operate the product. Story inputs and generated content may be processed by those providers only to deliver and protect the service. CompReader has no public child profiles, child-to-child messaging, social sharing, behavioral advertising, or sale of children's information.
Parent rights and controls
A parent can review a child's profile, stories, quiz history, progress, rewards, and moderation activity in the dashboard. A parent can change profile settings or delete the child profile and associated reading records. To request additional access, correction, deletion, or to withdraw consent, email privacy@compreader.com.
Retention and security
Child information is retained only while reasonably needed to provide the family account and related safety, security, and legal functions. CompReader uses scoped child sessions, restricted parent routes, encrypted connections, and one-way credential hashes to protect family information.
